Turning the Wheel: Reflections on Change, Fire, and Renewal

As autumn unfolds, I find myself reflecting on the lessons of fire, release, and renewal through the Medicine Wheel. This sacred cycle reminds us about endings—they are invitations to transformation or transmute. As the seasons shift and the year draws near its close, we’re called to pause, feel, and realign with what matters most.

As I sit here reflecting, I feel myself taking another turn around the Medicine Wheel—honoring the closing of another season and the cyclical nature of life.

This Fall, as we move toward the North direction and the year’s end, I feel called to process all that has unfolded. I allow myself to feel it all—the anger, frustration, joy, and contentment—and I watch the element of fire burn away what no longer serves me.

This year has brought slow but powerful shifts—transmutations—in my life. I’ve experienced change in my career and the quiet growth that comes from trusting the process. I’ve released relationships that needed to end and deepened sisterhoods, both new and old. I’ve been learning to let go of my children as they begin their own journeys, feeling the bittersweet warmth of love and pride in their becoming.

I’ve questioned patterns that no longer serve me and celebrated how far I’ve come. I’ve harvested lessons and moments of gratitude, preparing now for winter’s stillness and the gift of hibernation. Nature reminds me that everything is cyclical—growth, rest, creation, and release. We must continue to tend to what matters most, knowing that potential always lies waiting within us.

Tuning into Life’s Rhythms

Tune into the ebb and flow of your own life—the seasons, the moon, your body’s rhythms. Be present. Root down and rise up.

This connection nourishes not only you but your family, community, and work—because everything is connected, everything is cyclical. Together, these rhythms reflect the Medicine Wheel, the cycles of nature, and mental health—all reminding us that wellness is born from balance: mind, body, spirit, and emotions.

Whether you light a fire to release what no longer serves you, cook a meal from memory, or sit in silence with gratitude—these acts connect you to something greater. November reminds us that wellness is sacred, personal, and shared—and that change isn’t just happening around us; it’s happening through us.

Fire, Release, and Transformation

This is a time for rebirth, transformation, and transmutation.

The fire element invites us to face what must be released and to trust what we already know to be true. Make powerful choices rooted in your worth, not in outside circumstances. Love yourself. Create—through art, relationships, conversation, cooking, and community. Create and manifest what you desire.

Our thoughts and energies shape our lives. When we expect the worst, we invite it in; when we expect good, we draw goodness to us. Energy returns in kind.

Abundance is everywhere, rooted in truth. Nothing truly ends; life, death, and rebirth are a continuous cycle. The more you align with your authentic self, the more your true nature awakens. Notice who you are, where you’ve come from, and where you wish to go.

Join Me in Community and Renewal

Please join me for free community support groups and workshops focused on creativity, transformation, and renewal.

Two upcoming workshops include:

  • Holiday Card Making – a creative space to express gratitude and connection.

  • The Fire Within: Releasing, Remembering, Rebirth – a reflective experience exploring gratitude, restoration, and the personal meaning of medicine in your healing journey.

Medicine isn’t just what we take—it’s what we create. Together, we’ll explore healing as connection, transformation, and renewal.
